The next coach of our Red Bulls is Pepijn Lijnders, joining us from FC Liverpool. The 41-year-old Dutchman served as assistant coach to Jürgen Klopp for several years. Pep Lijnders has signed a three-year contract with us and will take over the team at the start of the 2024/25 preseason.
Coaching Career at Top Clubs
Throughout his coaching career, Pep Lijnders has gained experience not only as a coach but also in various other roles at several top clubs. He has previously been head coach at NEC Nijmegen, worked in youth development at PSV Eindhoven and FC Porto, served as academy coach at Liverpool, and was part of FC Liverpool's coaching staff during their UEFA Champions League triumph in 2018/19 and Premier League title win in 2019/20.

He will arrive in Salzburg alongside Portuguese coach Vitor Matos, who will serve as his assistant coach.
Matos, 36, has been a long-time collaborator of Lijnders, having worked closely with him at Porto and Liverpool.
