The "Human Hyena," the Self-Proclaimed Predator, Receives Third Life Sentence

The court found him guilty of the murder of taxi driver Javier Bocalón, which occurred in December 2022 after Roberto Carmona escaped during a temporary leave.

CÓRDOBA — Roberto Carmona, known as the “Human Hyena,” has been sentenced to life imprisonment, marking his third life sentence in his criminal history. A popular jury found him guilty of the homicide of taxi driver Javier Bocalón, making it his ninth conviction. The jury in the Criminal and Correctional Chamber of Córdoba also decided to suspend his temporary leaves.

Carmona cold-bloodedly murdered the victim. In a chilling confession, he detailed the crime that took place on December 13, 2022, when he fled from his wife's house, where he was on an authorized conjugal visit granted by a judge from Chaco. Throughout the trial, he reveled in his cruelty, blamed the victim for his own death, and criticized the Argentine prison system.
