Myleene Klass was visibly emotional on ITV's *Loose Women* as she opened up about her best friend's battle with cancer.
Lauren Laverne, known for hosting *Desert Island Discs*, shared a personal update on social media this morning (August 21), announcing: "I recently received a cancer diagnosis."
Lauren explained that, fortunately, the cancer was detected early during a routine screening and that she is expected to make a full recovery. Currently in the hospital, she expressed deep gratitude, saying, "I want to thank the medical teams who have supported me with incredible skill and kindness."
During the segment, Myleene praised her best friend for using her experience to raise awareness about the importance of health screenings, urging women to prioritize their own health checks, according to *The Express*.
The conversation began with Myleene's colleague Coleen Nolan acknowledging how close Lauren is to her heart. Myleene, visibly emotional, responded, "She's my bestie." Overwhelmed with tears, Myleene struggled to continue, pausing to regain her composure as her fellow panellists offered comforting words and tissues.
Myleene then spoke passionately about the importance of regular health screenings, emphasizing, "It's incredible to see her using this platform to encourage others to get tested. If you have any concerns or worries, just go and get checked. And encourage your loved ones to do the same."
Lauren, in her message, urged those who have been avoiding a test or delaying an appointment to take action, saying, "Please, please do it today." She added, "Half of us will face cancer at some point, and early detection is crucial."
She concluded by sending love to those going through similar experiences, saying, "It's usually my job to bring the good vibes on air, but any positive energy you can send my way is welcome. Sending love to everyone in a similar situation, or who has already overcome it."
