Eminem is stepping into a new chapter of his life: becoming a grandfather.
The rapper shared the exciting news in his latest music video for the song “Temporary,” featuring Skylar Grey, which premiered on Thursday. In the video, his daughter, Hailie Jade, 28, reveals that she is expecting her first child.
At one point in the video, Hailie, who is both a musician and podcaster, hands her father a blue shirt with "Grandpa" written on the back. A stunned Eminem is then seen holding a sonogram photo, while Hailie smiles, clearly enjoying her dad’s emotional reaction.
The video is a heartwarming blend of childhood home videos featuring Hailie and Eminem, interwoven with recent footage from her wedding to husband Evan McClintock.
Eminem dedicates the song to his daughter, with lyrics that reflect on the passage of time and life’s transitions: “So Hailie Jade, I wrote this song to help you cope with life when I’m gone.”
Following the video release, Hailie took to Instagram to share a series of photos with McClintock, showing the couple looking at their baby’s sonogram. She captioned the post, revealing that their baby is due next year.
Hailie and McClintock have been together since 2016. They announced their engagement in February 2023 and tied the knot in May.
“Waking up a wife this week,” Hailie wrote on Instagram at the time. “We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration. So many happy tears were shed, laughs and smiles shared, and so much love was felt.”
This will be the couple’s first child.
