Matthew Modine can now addwedding officiant" to his list of roles.
On Wednesday, Oct. 2, Jake Bongiovi shared a photo on Instagram of Modine, 65, officiating his wedding to Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. Modine, who portrayed Dr. Martin Brenner (aka 'Papa') in the popular Netflix series, officiated the May ceremony. In the image, the actor wore a black jacket over a white shirt and black pants, standing under a floral arch as Bongiovi, 22, recited his vows to Brown, 20.
Modine joked in the comments of the post, writing, Amazing. Who’s the old guy with a beard?? 🤪❤️🍀.
The outdoor wedding featured large white flower beds lining the aisle as guests watched the couple exchange vows. Bongiovi’s post included a variety of photos from the special day, including a sweet snap of him and Brown smiling, with the actress seated in an armchair while Bongiovi perched on the edge. Another showed the couple sharing a kiss, followed by a black-and-white image of Bongiovi preparing for the big day.
One photo captured Bongiovi standing between his father, Jon Bon Jovi, and Brown’s father, Robert Brown. The caption read, Forever and always, your husband.
Millie Bobby Brown also posted a carousel of wedding photos, ending with a playful shot of herself blowing bubble gum while wearing a chic silk mini-dress. Her caption echoed her husband's sentiment: Forever and always, your wife.
The couple first sparked romance rumors in June 2021, when Bongiovi shared a selfie with Brown on Instagram. Their relationship was confirmed later that year when Brown posted a blurry photo of the pair holding hands in New York City.
