A woman who murdered her parents and lived with their bodies for four years buried her father in a "homemade mausoleum" made from concrete blocks.
Virginia McCullough, 36, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 36 years for killing both her mother and father. She attacked her mother, Lois McCullough, 71, with a hammer and knife, and fatally poisoned her father, John McCullough, 70, using a "cocktail of prescription drugs."
After the murders, Virginia wrapped her mother’s body in a sleeping bag, placed it inside a wardrobe in her bedroom, and sealed it shut. On the ground floor of their home in Pump Hill, near Baddow, Chelmsford, she concealed her father’s body in a "makeshift concrete tomb" she constructed.
