Leena Sayed addressed the controversy surrounding the leaked jail call with Young Thug in a statement shared on her Instagram. She clarified that the video, which dates back to 2022, was recorded before she began her relationship with Devin Haney, 27. The full 15-minute conversation reportedly took place during Young Thug’s incarceration on charges related to alleged gang activity. In the viral snippet, Sayed appears emotional, saying, “I don’t like anyone… I want you.”
Amid the backlash, Young Thug also weighed in, attempting to distance himself from the situation. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he stated, “Man, me and twin was talking bout some whole other serious s–t. I don’t know why she spoke on loving other people or anything else cause ain’t giving no f–k bout no h–s or n—-s… Never have, never will lol.”
Sayed reaffirmed her stance on Instagram, writing, “That video was before I met my bd. I would never talk to Thug or any other man.”
Both Young Thug and Sayed’s responses seem aimed at safeguarding their respective relationships. Mariah The Scientist has remained a steadfast supporter of Young Thug throughout his legal troubles, while Sayed is reportedly expecting a child with Haney. The incident has also placed Sayed in the spotlight, an unusual occurrence for someone who typically stays under the radar in the boxing world.
