Newcastle United 4–0 Leicester City

Newcastle United secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Leicester City in a dominant display at St. James’ Park.

The Magpies controlled the first half, taking the lead when Jacob Murphy capitalized on a clever corner routine to fire a low shot into the corner. Earlier, Murphy had squandered two promising chances to break the deadlock.

Alexander Isak missed a one-on-one opportunity with Leicester’s goalkeeper, Mads Hermansen, but Newcastle maintained their attacking momentum after halftime. Within five minutes of the restart, Bruno Guimaraes doubled the lead, heading in from close range following a well-executed set piece.

Shortly after, Isak extended the lead to 3-0, nodding home from close range after a deflected cross from Lewis Hall fell kindly into his path. Murphy, aiming to further add to his tally, sent a shot over the bar, while Isak fired directly at substitute goalkeeper Danny Ward.

However, Murphy eventually netted his second goal, driving a low shot past Ward to make it 4-0. Late in the game, Newcastle nearly added to their tally, with Sandro Tonali firing into the side netting and Harvey Barnes narrowly missing the target with a curling effort.

The victory propelled Newcastle to 11th in the Premier League table, while Leicester’s struggles continued, leaving them in 16th place, just two points above the relegation zone.
