In Richmond's close loss to Essendon on Saturday night, Dustin Martin showcased a vintage performance that had former AFL player Dale Thomas and the commentary box buzzing with excitement.
Martin was a standout for Richmond, tallying 23 disposals and three goals despite the Tigers' 12-point defeat to the Bombers at the MCG.
The match began with promise for Richmond, and Martin wasted no time in demonstrating his trademark brilliance. Early in the first quarter, he executed a stunning snap goal from the junction of the 50m arc and the boundary line, breaking a tackle in the process.

As Martin nears his 300-game milestone, currently sitting on 298 AFL matches, reports suggest that the Tigers are considering resting him from upcoming games to ensure his milestone match is played at the MCG in Round 14 rather than at an interstate venue.
