San Lorenzo drew 1-1 against Lanús in the second round of the league tournament. Cristian Ferreira scored the goal for the Cyclone.
San Lorenzo pushed hard! They sought victory until the very end, using every means possible to overpower their opponent. And many times, they succeeded. However, they lacked that final touch to secure the win. Ultimately, there was a draw at the Pedro Bidegain Stadium. It ended 1-1 at home against Lanús in this second round of the league tournament.
Despite starting well with attacking moves and maintaining a strong presence in the opposition's half, Walter Bou's goal at the 18th minute slowed down San Lorenzo. They couldn't change the dynamics of the game in the first half, although they continued to search for the opponent's goal. A free-kick from Ferreira, some runs from Cuello and Leguizamón... San Lorenzo pressed on, using their strengths to achieve their first victory in the young championship.
In the second half, at the 13th minute, Leandro Romagnoli made substitutions, bringing in Barrios (for Irala) and Tarragona (for Leguizamón). With Lanús opting for a counter-attacking approach, San Lorenzo managed to equalize at the 21st minute: a cross from Campi in an offensive position, controlled and a powerful shot by Ferreira, who celebrated his third goal in the blue and red shirt. From then on, it was mostly San Lorenzo who dictated the game. Blanco and Toto Medina were also brought on to add more creativity to the team. Although they couldn't find the winning goal, San Lorenzo left a positive impression against a consistently challenging opponent. In fact, in the final minute of injury time, Tarragona came close to scoring with a header.
Next, Pipi's team will have to visit Godoy Cruz next Saturday at 17:30. Let's go, Cyclone!
