The Detroit Lions dominated in a 47-9 blowout victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday but faced a significant setback with the loss of star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.
Hutchinson, a leading candidate for NFL Defensive Player of the Year and Detroit's top defensive player, was injured during a second-half sack of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. After completing the tackle, Hutchinson grimaced in pain and remained on the ground, prompting the medical staff to bring out a cart.
The replay revealed that as Hutchinson spun to bring Prescott down, his leg collided with a teammate, resulting in what appeared to be a broken leg. Players from both teams gathered on the field as Hutchinson was placed in an air cast and carted off.
