Selena Gomez opened up about the emotional reason she no longer sleeps in her own bedroom while discussing her mental health journey during Wondermind's inaugural Mental Fitness Summit. The *Only Murders in the Building* star revealed how her struggles have affected her relationship with her home.
"I spent so much time in my bedroom that I actually don't sleep there anymore," Selena shared during the virtual summit on World Mental Health Day, Oct. 10. "I associate it with such a really dark time."
The 32-year-old explained how anxiety has been overwhelming for her, saying, "Being anxious is so debilitating sometimes. I didn't want to leave my bed for years, and part of it was because I wasn't doing the work. You have to believe in yourself and put in the effort to find some light."
She also recounted a restless night just before the summit: "As recently as last night, I couldn’t fall asleep until around 4 a.m. My mind was racing, and I kept repeating to myself, 'This will pass. Just let it go through your body and it’ll fade.' Eventually, I did fall asleep."
