Bath & Body Works has issued an apology after selling a candle with packaging that some customers claimed resembled Ku Klux Klan hoods.
The 3-wick candle, named "Snowed In," was briefly available on the company's website before being removed once concerns were raised. The design featured a snowflake made from paper, with white, cone-shaped edges and two holes near the center, which sparked the controversy.
One Instagram user remarked, "I have never seen a snowflake that looks like that," while another commented, "This wasn’t an accident." However, some felt it was an innocent mistake. "It’s just a poorly executed design that shouldn’t have been approved," one user said. Another added, "This is a paper snowflake. I would not have looked at that and thought it was a racist candle."
Bath & Body Works promptly pulled the product after the backlash.
