A Las Vegas man, arrested Saturday at a California campaign rally for former President Donald Trump, released a video statement on Monday, denouncing claims that he posed an assassination threat as “false and defamatory.” The man, Vem Miller, 49, expressed his strong support for the Republican presidential nominee and criticized the authorities’ actions.
“I’m addressing this now because I’ve received over a hundred calls in the past hour and a half since these false and defamatory statements were released by local police,” Miller said in the video.
Despite Miller's denial, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco told *USA TODAY* that he stands by his comments and his department’s handling of the situation, stating that they would respond the same way if it occurred again.
